New to forum - safe-t-sorb?

I’m new to aquarium forums and I’m setting up a55 gallon freshwater planted tank. I’m interested in using saf-t-sorb due to cost and look. Does anybody have experience with this product? I’ve heard that cleaning and charging to neutralize water column impacts can be difficult.

Is the safe t sorb the stuff used to absorb water and clean up spills? What precisely are you planning to use it for? Substrate?

Safe-t-sorb

Yes, I would like to try this out as a substrate, possibly capped with eco complete. I’ve heard that it lasts years and has a gravel like look. I’ve also heard that it can be “charged” with fertilizers and is great with planted tanks
