Ok so today I went to Walmart and picked up some Lilly bulbs. I wanted to know if I need to bury only the bottom side with the roots or just let if float. The box said just let if float but in ten minuets it sank. So if any one can help I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

I buried my bulb about half way just to keep it in place. It looks like a few weeks after they start growing, they break off from the bulb and root themselves, but I haven't pulled up the bulb to confirm that yet myself.

Yea, I'm constantly having to cut leaves/stalks off as they reach the surface. You could keep them intact and they could flower, but I don't want them blocking that much light.

Ok thanks if its not too much trouble could you post a picture.

Here are my two bulbs. One looks like its already split into a second plant. ( the bulb is the dark spot front left ) The last photo I can't remember if the bulb got buried or if it did eventually break away.
