My first foray into planting is for my 10 gal shrimp tank.
2 x 13W CFL,6500K, directly on the glass.
I currently have java fern & java moss, and they are doing fine.
I don't really need to soak up the excess nutrients or provide shading, but I think floaters are cool (in particular: red root floater, frogbit, Salvinia minima) so I would like to add some.
Would that be too much shading for the j. fern& mosses?
I have not been able to find cfl @ 6500K higher than 13W.
Also, my non planted tank has horrible light - 20W of 4100K over 29gal. Any chance floaters would be happy here?
