Opinions on mirimo moss ball?

Mostly aesthetics. Some folks claim that they help reduce algae because they consume the same nutrients, but I haven't seen first hand evidence of it. (They are actually a variety of algae, not moss).

You can actually get it to grow quite well if you induce an ammonia spike in the tank (better to do without fish in it obviously).

It also seems to trap a lot of debris because whenever I take it out to wash it I squeeze it and brown water comes out lol
