well i have been reading and well if i don't get enough natural sunlight then my plants will not really thrive in this tank. so i went to petsmart just to take a gander and they had the flora glo bulbs (cdn funds) from 22.97 marked down to 4.97. so i thought meh this is what i need.... they say it stimulates plant growth in fresh water tanks. so here is a pic of my tank with new lights.

You don't necessarily want natural sunlight. That can lead to algae. Those bulbs ought to be good though.

its ok i have more then enough lighting now as i picked up a new t5 ballast for 50 bucks and the 2 bulbs for 30 bucks.... wowsers and all brand new... petsmart is marking down the GLO line by hagen as they are coming with a new package design and are just unloading all the old packaged items... deal for us then right.....
