Hi guys,

A new look for my 55 planted. Very institutional-looking right now beacuse the plants haven't grown out, and I haven't decided what to do about getting a nice bed of glosso or something similar together... Hmm...

Some new plants, a new pH regulator, and a new Eheim liquidoser... Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Jon

Oh, and I finally got the feel for my Coralife light fixture. They're great for easy access to the water's surface. Here's a pic of the halfbeaks I've transferred to this tank. And of some of my new Bacopa caroliniana.

That's a great looking tank. Seeing the detail on your photos makes me think I need another camera. What kind are you using?

There are institutions and there are institutions and as institutions go, it looks like a rather nice one! Jeff

Brian: I'm using a Sony DSC-F717. It's a 5 MP prosumer-level camera. It's nice, but in terms of Megapixel value is already behind some of the lower-level consumer cameras. However, everything else about the camera rocks--great control, manual focus, manual shutter speed and aperture settings. If you're going to go for a similar camera, get the more updated Sony DSC-F828 (8 MP--surprisingly good camera for a Sony product), or a Nikon or Canon like QTOFFER has. Heck, if you've got the money, get yourself thenice new 16.6 MP Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II. A mere $8000. http://www.dpreview.com/shop/merchants.asp?id=canon_eos1dsmkii

And here's are a few really good, reasonably-priced ($700-$1500) prosumer-level cameras that are a little more updated, and that will give you results similar to my camera:

Very nice tank! Thanks for sharing, and I don't think it looks "institutional" at all. Great job, and really great pics.
