This is just a guess.

Is it tied to driftwood?

My guess is bolbitis heteroclita, also known as asian water fern. I have one in my 20 gallon long.

Very slow growing, likes to be in an area of the tank with current. Mine is tied to driftwood under my HOB filter.

I googled that and it just doesn't look like it I will get better pics

Mine's tied to the top of the driftwood, right in front of the filter.
