I was reading a thread by Giltch about his or her red cherry shrimp breading tank. and I was wondering what that small plant that is carpeting his substrate is.
The following picture was hi-jacked from his thread
thanks.

What is the floating plant there? Also, in a tank like this, when you do PWC, how do you go about cleaning the gravel? i am curious as to how people clean gravel when their entire gravel is covered in a carpet-like plant. Do yo just clean water and leave gravel alone?

Floater looks like riccia.

You don't gravel vac a planted tank really, it works differently, you want the mulm as fertilizer for plants. Water changes, yes, plunge a syphon into the substrate, no.

What ingg said Ben.
Riccia and no gravel maintenance.
