Which version of ambulia are you wanting to get?

I've only ever had the asian ambulia (Limnophila sessiliflora), and in my experience it does better in low to med light (a little less than what you have). The higher light causes it to stretch out and get very long distances between leaves, which doesn't look nearly as good as when it's more bushy IMO.

it is, however, quite easy and low maintenance plant and I think it's a good choice for you to try out.

Again, if you're referring to a different type of ambulia that'll be a different story.

Not to mention, much of the Ambulia is illegal. There is only one variety that I know of that is legal to posess in the US, and that's Limnophila sessiflora.

But, I can tell you that Limnophila sessiflora will grow very good in medium light, so I think your lighting will be ok for it.
