I have 2 lamps in my tank, a 48" colormax and a 36" floramax on independent timers. Wondering what would be a good setup.

I currently have the long bulb running 9am to 8pm, and the plant spectrum bulb on from 12pm to 5pm.

Good for the plants or is it too much or too little?

Also they are T8.

Waaaay too long of a lighting period. you really should be looking at around 8 hours maximum for the photoperiod.

Ok, could I split it up? Like 4 hours morning and 4 hours at night?

Yeah that's fine. Too long of a photo period leads to an algae bloom which is why you don't want to overdo it.
