Hey i have ordered a new 500 litre (110gallon) tank to move my juvenille piranhas to. I am trying to set it up as a planted tank and be as natural as possible, im just looking for ideas, what substrate to use plants? already have laarge bogwood anf rocks, also looking into co2 any ideas welcome thanks.

I like Fluorite as a substrate. About an inch of fluorite and an inch of gravel and you are set. You can get it in a couple of different colors to either (almost) match or to contrast your gravel coloring.

Flourite would be good, but it'll cost a fortune to do an entire 110g with it. Plants will root in just about anything, as long as the granularity isn't too large. Pea gravel, sand, and dirt all work. Is there a particular color you're looking for?
