so I have some mopani wood boiled for two sessions and my tank is almost done a fishless cycle but what I didn't expect it to be alkonline general planted tank was not out of control on any side but was expecting more acid. can anyone explain ?

So you have a high ph? And what do you mean out of control on either side? Some driftwood lowers the ph more than others and it depends on other things too. What kind of substrate do you have, decorations, and what ph were you hoping for?
