Does anyone know if plants like cript lutea and Anubias will thrive in sand? I have them in mesh pots right now and they are taking up too much space.

The crypt will yes, with a root tab. . Anubias should be tied off to something and not planted

I see a lot of talk about root tabs, even some negative. What are they?

Little tablets full of the necessary ferts and nutrients for plant growth. You simply punch them deep into the substrate.

Your crypts WILL need them

Home made root tabs are best

Ive heard seachems tabs are the best from the branded tabs.

I think peabodys paradise does homemade tabs. Not sure on that though
