Purigen in a magnum 350

I was wondering if anyone has tried lose Purigen in the media basket of the magnum 350 by marineland or if I should bag it first.

I've not tried it but your probably better off bagging it. Even if they stay in the media basket (doubt it), when it comes time to change it out or recharge it, you may have a mess on your hands removing from the basket.
