Hi,

I'm redoing the big tank just now and needed some more java moss. So a quick visit to the girlfriends house later i've reclaimed a fistfull from the shrimp vase i left there.

However that vase does have green slimy algae on the filter outlet which reminds me alot of the cynobacteria i so loathed last time it hit my big tank.

Although there was none visible on the moss that i took back to my house a quick sniff test does indicate there could be cyno lurking.

What would be the best way of cleaning the moss quickly, tonight before i start putting on the redmoor wood i've got sitting here?

1:20 bleach solution?

Quick Erthromycin bath?

Thanks in advance.

Jac

I'd do a 1:20 bleach dip. If that doesn't work, or you're still worried, Java moss is pretty readily available to get a fresh, clean supply.
