I have just bought a plant, from an internet retailer. It turns out I got two, but they have only juvenile leaves. I think they are seedlinds. I'll try and post more info as they grow.

Lotus and lilies are big root-feeders, so a nutrient rich substrate (or root tabs) can really help. It will put out some leaves that grow to the surface of the tank. These you can trim to encourage it to put out more submersed growth (which looks a lot better). Hope this helps :)

They are my favorite plant, I love the color. I don't have the best plant conditions in my tank and the tiger lotus does better than my other plants - so they are a very hardy plant.

I have a 2 inch flourite substrate, so i'm guessing that should be sufficient. i'll be glad to add some color to all my greenery! thanks for your help guys
