Hello, I am planning a 55 gallon planted and would love your suggestions for a large centerpiece fish. (Please no Rainbowfish) Here is the stocking list:
White Cloud Mountain Minnow x6
Salt and Pepper Cory Catfish x4
Mosquito Rasbora x8
Ember Tetra x8
Cardinal Tetra x8
Twig Catfish x1
Otocinclus Catfish x4
Pacific Blue Eye x3
Aphyosemion Gardneri Killifish x2
Snails
Shrimp

Pearl Gourami.
They are the calmest of the large Gouramis and mine have never bothered my small fish.

Tho tiny Rasboras might be tempting.

I think a fabulous Crypt plant would make a great centerpiece.

Centerpiece fish are overrated as very few fish live well by themselves. A fabulous group of lovely fish are great to watch.

Up your groups.

Cories should be 6+
Otos as well.
Most schooling fish, this is the recommendation.

A mishmash of this and that won't show well.

I'd do less types and bigger groups.
12 Cories
Skip Whiteclouds as they like cool water tanks.

Consider Threadfin Rainbowfish. I'd do 3 males and 5-6 females.

Research the fish. Look at temp, diet, activity level.

I really agree, and I don't like the idea of an aphyosemion as a communityfish. (Mine was a nocturnal hunter who would bite off the tails of my pseudomugil furcata).

Sent per three-eyed raven..

So no WCMM and add more otos and Cory cats. Also I am going to have the pacific blue eyes in a different tank.

Well I would not do kilifish with any top dwelling fish no :) hmm maybe some german blue rams? A pair?

That sound lovely. lol

I have decided to get 3 pearl Gourami and a school of gold barbs.

Can't wait to see how this one turns out. Hope you got lots of plants for those gourami to take territory or let the aggression commence. ?
