Snail ID

What kind of snail is this cutie, and is he safe for planted tanks? He has obviously been a hitch hiker on plants at some point, and there are now about 5 of them that I can spot, all less than 1cm in diameter. Also, how big do they get?

looks like an albino ramshorn. They stay fairly small. shell about 1cm in diameter

Once they settle in, they will multiply like crazy! Well like most snails I guess...

They shouldn't. I have loads of ramshorns, no problems with my plants.

yeah, i have tons of them too and no problems, the do multiply quickly though, but they are beneficial to the tank. It is more about looks with these, if you dont mind snails all over the glass in your tank then they are fine, if you do, then out they go... your choice.

I must say though, that is a neat looking snail, whatever variety of ramshorn it is.
