Starting a Freshwater Planted tank

I'm thinking of starting a freshwater planted tank and know nothing about starting one. Can someone suggest a good how-to-book???

No need for a book really, just use the search function on this forum. There's literally thousands of threads about starting up and keeping a new tank. If there's anything you can't find then just ask, everybodys here to help good luck

Hi. I don't know of any all-in-one type books that show the various ways of making a planted tank (maybe I should be writing lol). The first thing is to figure out what kind of planted tank you want, high tech, low tech, natural. Then figure out your budget, and plan accordingly. You can achieve a nice well planted tank for very cheap or very expensive depending on how you do it.

In my opinion, it's easiest to start planning by deciding what size tank you want

Definitely. Bigger the better.
