My wife is concerned about switching to live plants in our tank. She is concerned that live plants will cause the tank to smell. Is there any truth to this?

My tank is fully planted and does not smell. I'm curious why she thinks plants will make the tank smell??

Maybe she expects an "earthy" smell. My filters will have that sometimes when I clean them. Everyday, the tanks have no noticeable smell whatsoever. If it is a big concern, just use the ADA CO2 systems with rain forest aroma in the CO2. It should produce a pleasant smell.
