My plants are just growing and growing... what do you suggest to do when they get *too* tall?

Can I cut them and replant the other half?

Depends on which plants. My Jungle Val gets huge, so I just trim it (otherwise it floats on top and takes sunlight from my other plants), but the Hornwort I trim and replant (in other tanks, usually)

Correct. Stem plants can be clipped and replanted. Runner plants like vals just get pruned and you toss out the clippings.

Sometimes it pays to be careful in what plants you use according to the size of the tank. Many swords are just not appropriate for say a 10gal, because they just get too tall for the tank, so you can limit your selections based on how tall the plant is likely to grow. I've never had a tank tall enough for any jungle val, though, lol!
