Tank size

What's generally the best tank size for a planted tank? For a beginner/intermediate

I would start with at least a 10 gallon, but the largest you can handle is the best. Larger means most stable. I personally think a 20 or 29 gallon is awesome as a starter.

Yeah, I have a 26 gallon bow front and it's a great starting tank.

I'd say a 20g long with a finnex planted+ SE, pressurised co2 and a canister filter with an inline atomizer quick way to spend $300 haha

Oh, just watch out for too tall. Too tall means you need more light.

Agree here totally - 2 and half feet tall I find needs a lot of light and trying to balance that against keeping algae away. Plus they are a pain to maintain. (Having said all that I wouldn't give mine up )
