What's generally the best tank size for a planted tank? For a beginner/intermediate
 
I would start with at least a 10 gallon, but the largest you can handle is the best. Larger means most stable. I personally think a 20 or 29 gallon is awesome as a starter.
 
I'd say a 20g long with a finnex planted+ SE, pressurised co2 and a canister filter with an inline atomizer ;) quick way to spend $300 haha [emoji23]
 
Oh, just watch out for too tall. Too tall means you need more light.



Agree here totally - 2 and half feet tall I find needs a lot of light and trying to balance that against keeping algae away. Plus they are a pain to maintain. (Having said all that I wouldn't give mine up :) )

Hey my tall tank makes me 20 bucks in auction money each auction lol love it.
