Ugh fish eating plants

My seven checkered barbs along with my pair of balloon mollies have takien significant interest in the new additiins to my tanks

2 days ago i got several live plants for my 30 gal aaaaand
My fish are chewing the hell out of them
How can i prevent my fish from harming the plants?
Could i possibly add some cheaper "tasty plants" in hopes that they might steal the barbs attention?
My brother also suggested putting blanched cucumber in the tank in hopes that it would also distract the fish

So what is. The best course of action for me to take?

I wouldn't think so. I would see it like saying can you put plants with an oscar? The answer is no. Did you try with fake plants and see if they have interest in that? If not, then it might work with some other plant.
