I used to always do that. My fish never had better color than when I used peat. Maybe I should do it again just to soften my lights a bit. It might be a cool way to help darken a tank. Thanks for mentioning it.

I like the natural look and it almost makes the plants glow :). I love that it lowers ph naturally I have hard water out here, the only thing that sucks is I have to order it online because they don't sell it anywhere here.
