Upset over missing fish

I have 2 Horseface loaches. They are always together. Well now I can only find one. I've tried algae tablets hoping that the missing one will appear. Seems to have disappeared overnight (this is the 2nd day). I have looked under driftwood. Nothing. Its like he grew legs and walked away. I LOVED the pair. I am so confused over where it went.

I don't know about that fish , but they may be jumpers . Check behind and around the tank on the floor . I know I hate it when one just disappears . If he did jump , just make sure the top of tank gets covered well even with screen or plastic canvas .
