Using horticultural bulbs

Hi all,

I was looking at these t5ho bulbs and others which are not specifically marketed for aquariums and wondering if they would still be ok? Or if anyone has tried these?

I was thinking of getting some and trying. I have a quad t5ho so can mix and match a bit. Main concern would be if the par is lower I think.

48 inch or 4 ft (122cm) T5HO fluorescent grow light bulbs from SunBlaster - Diamond LED Grow Lights

That definitely seems a bit steep for T-5 HO bulbs. But yes they would work fine.

Hi, thanks for the replies and sorry for the delay. I shall look into it further and try some more online shops. That's a good point on pricing. To be honest it's hard for me to tell. I'm paying $30 per bulb at the moment. So trying to find a balance between buying local and keeping the credit card in the black so to speak.
