What is a "VHO ballast"?

Can anyone help me with this? What exactly is a "VHO Ballast"?

Very High Output lighting uses electronic ballasts, just like power compacts. An older magnetic ballast for NO lighting will NOT light up PC or VHO bulbs.

Areo, IceCap and Fulham make VHO ballasts.. they also make differnt sizes for PC and rapid fire NO commercial tubes..

There are also conventional ballasts for VHO. I have 3 8' VHO fixtures in my garage, and they are not electronic (195 watts per tube, you need sunglasses). Ballsats have always been designed for a specific range of tubes.

your talking about magnetic ballasts for what they call them now that they make electic ones..

I know they make electronic ones. Malkore gave the impression that VHO required electronic ballsts,which are outrageously expensive, when in fact they don't.

The Fulhams WH ballsts are reasonable..
