I have a 5.5 gallon tank that doesn't have a lid, so I am having one cut out of plexiglass. I am going to have to replace the light setup, because it is built into the filter that came with it. I have had a different filter on there since the start of the cycle. (It's been done for quite a while now) I will be using a desk lamp of some kind. What kind of bulb should I get for it? There is an LED desk lamp on sale right now... there was an ad in the paper. But it doesnt say how many watts or anything. Please help.
Thanks,

A compact fluorescent bulb would work

Ok. I also want to have like a blue bulb that is dim for night time. Any suggestions?

You don't want to leave an actinic light on overnight...it's still pretty bright for the fish. They sell mini-LED lunar lights which would work great for a 5 gallon.

Can someone please post a link for the mini led blue light Eco mentioned?
