Water sprite can grow planted, floated, and if planted and left to grow can grow up and out of the tank. I have never had an issue of my planted water sprite releasing little pieces unless a fish nipped them off.

O I know of rivrcat, but my tank is 30 gal, with gouramis

Maybe it's my shotty light, but it was relaxing bundles with roots from mid stem

The aeriel roots are common on many aquarium plants including water sprite but none of my water sprite has ever released them without help from fish. I keep water sprite in the 2 goldie tanks as it grows so fast and can withstand their picking at it. I always have little pieces floating from them nipping at the leaves. On a plus note tho you can leave the pieces floating and they will grow into nice looking floating plants. Just leave the other one planted.

Seems clean gouramis don't nip they hid in it, hopefully I can find a pic before I replant em
