Hypothetically speaking if I were to start a planted tank should I go with a 20 gallon tall or 20 gallon long ( I have one of each). I do not know which plants I would go with yet as I want to start with the tank and work my way up from there. Any and all suggestions welcomed.

I would go with the long. Easier for light penetration, more room to aquascape and a better choice of fish.

Are you going to go high tech or low tech with the tank?

yeah with the long you'll get a little more efficiency from the bulbs you use. either is perfectly fine for a planted tank though.

if both are availbale i agree that the 20 L will give you more options and better light :D

rich311k - I will probably start low tech until I see exactly what transpires. From there who knows. Thanks for the reply. 20 long it is!

malkore - JDogg- Thanks
