Wispy Algae Growing off Wisteria Plant

This long, wispy form of algae is growing off of my water wisteria plant and honestly it looks kind of cool, but I don't know if it's okay for the wisteria. I'll post some pictures in a second; will this kill my plant?

Yep it will kill it, it's hair algae and it is blocking out the light and competing for nutrients. Best way to get rid of it, is cut it off the plants, and keep them well trimmed, and away from the top of the tank as that's where it does best...
