Well, I guess it's time for me to stop being camera shy and document my journey with my 36G Bow front. Rough times starting out at first, lots of newbie mistakes, so I plan to update as we go on with it.

36G Bowfront
Fluval 306 Canister
Aquaclear 30
Dual Finnex Planted + 24/7
Paintball Co2 (GLA Inline Diffuser) w/ Reactor
Seachem Black Sand
Mebbids Root Tabs
EI Dosing

The setup and equipment.

This tank was OVER grown this past weekend, so I hacked it all the way back to bare. Starting a new at this point!

:thanks:

How do you find the atomic diffuser going into the cerges? Any micro bubbles getting through?

Some do make it through, but its nothing like it was w/ a glass diffuser. You can actually see pearling where you didn't see it with a an atomic inline (no reactor or just intank).

When I had it just running in bypass mode (the reactor) it just looked like fog was rolling through the tank. But in the reactor you gotta really look to see it coming out of the spray bar.

Following from up north on 271 ?

My tank is starting to recover. Might have some blyxa for you soon!

So I pulled some sunset hygro from the 40 and put it in the back right corner. Moving the ludwigia red a little to the left.

Yeah, I was reading about it... They said it normally happens if they were grown outside of the tank, which quite possible as these were from petsmart gel packs.. But they have been in this tank for almost a month.. Anyways, I hacked back the ones that were yellowing and decaying, so I am hoping they will spring back. If not, ill just replant the tops where I hacked them back.. Will see...

Anyways, I am heading out of town for the weekend hoping my tank looks good when I get back.. I plan to stop at a very good Aquatic Store while I am out of town... Hopefully I bring back some goodies!!

Stay Tuned!

after looking great for 4 months the same thing is currently happening to mine. What is happening almost reminds me of a potassium deficiency and Im thinking of upping my dosage. But Brookster you say that these phases are normal? Im starting to get concerned because they've looked pretty rough for about 3 weeks after looking awesome.

So I ended up picking up some glossostigma, rotala wallichi, and horrible pair for blyxa.

I am really impressed with the growth I'm getting from the ammannia gracillis. That plant has been dead/stagnate for weeks and now its blossoming!
