I've seen them eat clams crayfish and more my friend has one that I went and fed while he was on vacation and I was hand feeding him some clams and he hit me with his claws and I have two broken fingers now

Your nuts, I wanted to get close cause they are so cute but I know they are very fast and pretty strong, your luck he didn't burn you on top!!!
