We set up a new marine aquarium last September, having had fresh water tropical fish for many years, with loads of help from our local aquatic shop. Apart from the fish, we have a clean up crew of five snails, an emerald crab, two red striped shrimps, a sand moving snail and starfish and several little red legged hermit crabs, which have been keeping the tank resonably clean However, recently, we found that we have a lot of fast growing green hair algae which none of the clean up crew are clearing. Also most of the living rocks are now covered with pinky purple algae which is appearing on the glass too and very hard to scrape off. Any suggestions please as to how we can get rid of this unsightly algae?
