I read another article on a forum from some people here in calgary who found some at a place called "Consolidated Compressor" here in calgary. It is only $7 per 90lb bag of sil7 sand. Not exactly sure if that is what you want for reef, but you could check out sil7 sand type and if that is what you want, maybe its at local compressor or air supply stores?? Might help track it down anyway having the a name for it, thought you'd want to know... Sorry nothing definitive.

Just what sort of sand are you looking for? Southdown? I get all my FW sand from Consolidated Compressor, and they carry a lot of types, including one that is tiny little balls of glass.

I'm looking for the aragonite based PS. Southdown and old castle are some of the brands. aragonite isn't "glass" or silica based its calcium based.
