Adopted fish

Can someone please help me identify my new fish. I can not tell if it is a severum or a cichlid, I adopted it from someone who said all of their cichlids were picking on it and it was not agresive towards it at all, which leads me to think severum. If any one can help I would appreciate it a lot.

It looks like to me I just want to make sure I put him in the right tank I got one with mollies and one with a BGK and a fire eel.

Just as a note... severums are cichlids.

That's what I thought but wanted to make sure so I know which tank to put it in. I have two to choose from one with agressive and one with nonagressive.

I thought severums were not agressive thought.

can be very aggressive, especially during spawning. can be fine in species tanks or if their personality is ok, but a mean severum is common. x

My favorite FW fish. They can hold their own in a aggressive system or be mild mannered is a non aggressive system. Of course size matters.

I have several gold sevrums and none are aggressive. They r in with blood parrots rams danios barbs n plecos. You can try either tank
