I got this fish for free but I don't know what he is can someone tell me please

Bettas like 80f temps. And looks like a female ? Or Wild type. Once it settles in show it a mirror and take a picture if it flares.

Okay that's awesome she is a mellow fish ill take a pic in a few days and post it do they just eat flaked foods?

They love Frozen bloodworms and Betta Pellets. Mine eat pellets from my fingers.

Read up on bloat in Bettas and keep frozen Peas handy.

They will eat it. Try feed him live food before the peas .
