Can you please identify my new fish?

Good evening. I just got back from the pet store here in Japan with a few new fish in tow. They are so elegant and are the perfect compliment to my planted tank teeming with small tetras.

The clerk did not know what these were called and I have never seen them before coming from the East Coast of the USA. I figured this would be the perfect place to ask. Thanks so much!

But seriously:

1. if a pet store assistant doesn't know what he sells actually, it's a reaaally serious situation....

2. I strongly recommend to do own research before a bought! You will prevent the potential disappoitments in the future (my personal experience) .
