I just ordered my new lighting system!
Thanks to everyone for putting up with my constant whineing and asking of annoying questions! :p
you can find my new unit here:

I had one ordered at big al's but it was 230 bucks canadian (about 190 US) which i found really steep, AND it only came with a 50/50 bulb.

THis one is almost perfect in every way, except that i may have to alter my canopy to make it fit nicely.

Nothing a dremel can't do... *grins*

NOW i'm excited!
... now what to stock it with....
44 gallon pentagon... 24" deep...

I'll be honest, I thought for a second you were going to stuff that thing on a 10G and boil some plants and fish! EEEK

But that is a good price. We want pictures when your done.

haha, never :p I wonder if algae would even grow if i put that on a 10 gallon :-|

The only thing that bugs me is the presence of fans. Right now, i can't hear my tank over my computer. I THINK what i may do is substitute those fans for 2 ultra quiet chipset fans i can get for computers. You can't even hear then when they're running at 2300 rpm. We'll see how loud it is when i get it.

my ONLY beef is that i'm going to have to modify my canopy. *fires up the dremel tool*
