Do fish get lonely???? I have a 130l tank with platies, gold barbs and a Molly, oh and 3 bn pleco's. Have just got a 25l tank fully cycled and was wondering if I can put 1 of my platies in till I get something else to go in there. So would 1 get lonely or should I put 2 in????

I don't think fish feel the same kind of lonely as humans do. It's more that they feel safety/strength in numbers and so feel vulnerable if alone. If you're thinking that one little fish will keep your cycle going, I don't think it would work. You'd be better off with at least 3-4 fish in there.

In a 25L you'd be fine with a single fish to hold the cycle, it's only 6 gallons.

I'd throw two in. Why not? They would rather have a buddy, if possibe.

2-3 would be best. Theyll feel safer, plus they will be more active
