I just received my CO2 regulator and controller today, and have put them to work on my 30 gallon planted tank.

Regulator, Solenoid, Needle Valve and Bubble Counter

Both are from Milwaukee, which seems to be a popular brand in the hobby.

Sorry no pics yet, I put the equipment right into service, so I didn't get a chance to hit it with my webcam, but I'll take some analog pics later and post them.

As for the diffuser, I'm just bubbling an airline into a Whisper 2 HOB filter... it seems to work good enough. This system is one of the components for my 120 gallon tank that I'm working on getting together. I will most likely build some sort of powered reactor either external or something to live in my sump for the big tank.

Real CO2 dissolves so much easier than the gas that comes out of a 2 liter yeast generator. The bubbles from my diy generator would make all sorts of noise churning in the filter, and most would come out as a spray in the exhaust water. Now as the pure CO2 bubbles get sucked into the impeller, a much quieter churning exists, and there appears to be no waste spray of bubbles in the exhaust water.
