New growth! What is it?

Hello all My name is Andy and i am a grasshopper! New to salt water tanks and I am in the set up stages of my tank. I notice everything and I was just wondering if you guys could help me

1)Something intresting happened over night I noticed a new growth and it spread really fast and to me it didnt look right! what is it?(Picture 1 and 2)

the brown stuff is normal since your still cycling. dont sweat it too deeply. At least thats what my LFS told me and they havent steered me wrong yet. If it goes a nice deep red/maroon, thne u have a problem. Hang tight and the "locals" will agree or disagree with me. The red is bad , its called red slime or technical name cyano bacteria.

That looks like diatoms. They are common when starting up a saltwater tank.
 
It`s diatoms. It happens during the cycle. It will disapear when the fuel source disapears. You can see it in this link near the bottom.
