What kind of Rainbow is this?

Hi all. This rainbow came from the Boesemani tank at the LFS, but looks nothing like the other two I have (one male/one female), except for the little bit of yellow on the body. Could it be a hybrid of a boeseman and something like a dwarf neon? Thanks for your opinions.

Mine looked a bit like that for a couple of days after I bought it, then the color started to show. I think it could have been stress-related.

Thanks for the replies. I've had this one for about 2 weeks, so I think any stress-related discoloration would be corrected at this point. Seeing at it looks nothing like either of my other two boesemanis, I guess I have a mystery fish!

I have one very similar to that one... Mine was advertised at the LFS as an Australian Rainbow...

You know, I'm thinking mine might be - A Profile of The Desert Rainbowfish - Melanotaenia splendida tatei which looks very similar to yours.

I would say some version of the "standard" australian rainbow. Most of the fish labeled as australian rainbows are hybrids of multiple strains of M. splendida.
