Hello,

I have a 225 FOWLR that will become a reef tank eventually. I was thinking of adding a refugium to it. I have a sump and am limited in space to something about 24x18x18 (33 gal)

Will this be beneficial to add. I was thinking of a 5-6" dsb in the refugium. My display tank has a shallow sand bed. Please let me know your thoughts recommendations. What else can/should I use the refugium for?

in a area that small having a DSB is no real benefit. Add 1-2" with some LR rubble and caluerpa. Any way you can add a 15 gal or 20 under the stand as a fuge? I have a 15 tall under my 125 stand and I have it dump into the sump. I also have a 20 gal next to my 55 fowlr. Once you get them a refugium can be just as fun to watch as the tank.

Ok thanks. I will do a shallow bed and some live rock rubble. Thanks for the response.
