No, the Mexican Red Legs are smaller and don't have a yellow face. They're both good cleaners though.

The only major difference in thier diet is the cyanobacteria. Mexican Red-legs go for cyano, they love it. Scarlets will eat it, but do not search it out.

My red legged hermits did not go for cyano at all when I had some a few months back but I have heard that some do. They are great hermits, no problems with snails or any other critters.
