I will be getting my live rock soon...so excited! I'm looking at liveaquaria.com and there are so many different kinds. I know I only need to get about 10-20% live and the rest base...but I can't tell what the base rock would be. It all says it is live. But I'm guessing the fiji foundation rock or the fiji standard live rock would be my base rock? Is that right? And after they have all been cured, will the base rock grow pretty colors like the expensive premium live rock has? Just wondering...thanks!!

Your "base" rock would be best bought dry. Cheaper, can be used immediately, no pests. We LOVE what we just got from MarcoRocks. Six large rocks and a tiny bit of rubble (useful) in their 25lb free shipping package. Great stuff that doesn't destroy reefs. Check out their website for more info. BRS has some good YouTube videos about the same kind of stuff too.
