Hi all,

I've seen these at the LFS and they look neat. I want a yellow fish for my tank. Are the blue spotted butterflies any good for aquariums? I've heard they don't adapt well and are difficult to feed.

It'd be a shame because they're so nice to look at.

According to Scott Michael's "Marine Fishes", Chaetodon plebius has an aqurium stability index of 1. That is about as difficult as it gets. This is a difficult fish to feed n captivity. In the wild it feeds mostly of Acropora sp. SPS corals. Sounds like one best left to the ocean. Great looking fish though.

I agree that they are in the difficult range. They will ravage your corals as Brian stated also. I know I would not attempt it in my tank.
