Can I use old coral?

A while ago I had a green star polyp coral with a hard base. Unfortunaly it did not do so well. I still have the hard base and was wondering if I could put it back into the tank or not. Any one know about that?

So it's likely just dry base rock now. Got all the loose dead stuff off of it right. Then I see no problem if so.

Yea its been a while and everything was cleaned off and rinsed well. I was just reading something about a bleach rinse or soak, do you think I need to do that?

Yep, I've done that with a few small pieces that didn't make. Once they're all dried out they're just like adding Base rock.

Yeah it won't be a problem Kelso. I've got some dead coral pieces in my tank.
