CC to live sand bed

Hi,

pretty new to SW tanks. i've have had one set up for about 3 months now. 75 gal fowlr. planning on switching from cc to sand bed (for the look and bio filtration)but not sure of the best way to do it. i want to convert to a reef tank as well. i'm getting a ro/di unit soon. should i take everything out or just the rock and cc? how do i get the new filtered water in without losing all the cycled water? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
